Terms and conditions for Journeys in Parenting events and consultations

Thank you for your interest in our upcoming events/consultations. Please read through the following details before booking, and get in touch if you have any questions at all. We look forward to meeting you at one of our events soon!

In-person courses and talks are usually held at our home in Wokingham, Berkshire (UK). If you would like to arrange for a talk in your locality, we are happy to do so provided we can travel to you fairly easily, but arranging a suitable venue will be your responsibility. Please get in touch if you wish to do this.

We also run a number of online events - please visit the events table to find out more.

One-to-one consultations are carried out online by Zoom or Skype.

On receipt of your booking form, you will be sent a Stripe invoice - payment is due within 48 hours of your booking, otherwise you may lose your place. We are currently in the process of adding Stripe payments to the website, but until then we appreciate prompt payment in response to your email invoice to save time chasing up.

Please note: your place on your chosen event is not confirmed until we have received your payment. Generally we ask that events are paid for in full up front, but if you need a payment plan to make it workable, we will happily accommodate you as best we can. Please just get in touch to discuss this.

For the Parent Support Group, please fill in the booking form to register your interest, and I will contact you to discuss dates - there is no commitment at this stage.

For the Discussion Group sessions, please book via the booking form for the next date in the calendar - if you wish to register your interest on a future session, please just make a note on the booking form to let us know.

For one-to-one consultations, please fill in the booking form to find out more information, and we will discuss your needs (including other options that might be available to you), costs, and possible dates - there is no commitment at this stage.

For Rise membership, you will receive a Stripe invoice and be billed automatically each month via your credit card. If you wish to leave the membership programme, you can cancel your payments via Stripe at any time.

All prices for talks and courses are per person, unless otherwise stated. This includes access to online teachings. There may be a discount available for couples wishing to access the same talk or course - please contact me if you are not sure.

I hope it is very clear that we try to keep the costs of our events and consultations as low as possible. If you consider the costs of other services you use, and professional courses you might take in your (paid!) working life, we believe our events are priced very reasonably. But if you are still finding it difficult to find the money at the moment, we do understand - and we are happy to arrange a payment plan, or to discuss a concession, so please do contact us if you feel this would be helpful to you.

We trust that only those who are genuinely in need will request a concession, so we would be grateful if your ability to pay the full cost is carefully considered. If in doubt, you may wish to think about other areas where you spend money, and whether you could make some cuts there - if it's food or heating bills versus a parenting course, we would love to help! But if it's that you miss a hair appointment, or a chance to go out for a few drinks… ;-) Thank you for your consideration - paying what you can afford means we can continue to offer the services we do, whilst being able to open them up as best we can to those who are struggling to find funds right now. We leave it up to your discretion, and we know it will all be paid forwards, and we are thankful for that :-)

Refunds & cancellations

Refunds for events will be offered in the following circumstances for in-person events:

  • If we have a waiting list, and are able to fill your place (less a £5 administration fee)
  • If you cancel more than a month in advance (less a £5 administration fee) (excluding the Starter Class - due to the very small numbers and the planning that needs to take place to run this course, refunds will not be given at any time unless we have a waiting list and can fill your place)
  • If we have to cancel the event for any reason
  • If you cancel your 1:1 consultation more than a week in advance (less a £5 administration fee)
We believe in the quality and practical use of the events we offer, and the value they will bring to your family. We will give a refund within 7 days of an event date (or within 7 days of the start date of a course or series of sessions), including taught online offerings (excluding Rise) if you have not found the event valuable, as long as you document the ways in which you have implemented the suggested ideas, and can demonstrate that they have not been of any benefit to you. We don't anticipate this happening, but we want you to be really happy with our offerings - we think you will be! Please note, we do not offer refunds on Rise membership, or on virtual self-study courses such as the 30-Day Parenting Refresh.

Where we have to cancel an individual session of an ongoing course, we will make that session up at a later date. If we have to cancel a one-off event, we will move the date, and your money will be refunded if you no longer wish to attend.

If you need to rearrange a consultation due to circumstances beyond your control, such as illness, please do just get in touch to arrange this - we completely understand that things don't always go according to plan!

Your personal details

We need to ask for your name, email address, and mobile number so that we can send out information before/after events and consultations, and so that we can contact you last minute if we needed to do that. On the booking form you have the option to opt in to receive our email newsletter (just mark the relevant box). Your details will not be passed on to any other person or company.

And finally...

We try to start all talks and courses promptly, as there is so much to cover, so please arrive from 15 minutes before the start time if you would like to grab a cup of tea! But if you are running late, please don't worry - we know how it can be, and we just want you to be there!
